I’m loving life and trying to experience as much of it as possible before it ends. Push the boundaries, reach beyond the fears, learn something from everyone, try to help those who want it, and try to get my husband to retire early to a sailboat and travel the Caribbean and perhaps the South Pacific!
By degree, I am a Computer Engineer and worked in the field of Design Engineering for a while. Then I decided I wanted to do something different. So, over the next several years I built and opened two gyms and became a Certified Personal Trainer. In addition, I am finishing up my Masters to be a Certified Life and Small Business Coach and completing my requirements to be a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 hour level.
I am also an avid snowboarder, sailor, and am an ASA certified bareboat captain for up to a 50′ monohull or catamaran sailboat. I love to hike, backpack, read, play Angry Birds and play guitar. And after March, I will add Certified Bartender to that list.
I am having a blast and the best part is sharing it all with Martin.
About Martin
I have been in aerospace engineering for 28 years (I’m thinking of making it a career). I also am a passionate home chef, largely self-taught but I have also taken numerous cooking classes over the years including an intensive culinary boot camp at the Culinary Institute of America. I have been into health and fitness most of my adult life, teaching myself about nutrition and actively participating in weightlifting, 5K and 10K races and triathlons. I also love to snow ski, hike and backpack.
In our relationship, I like to think of my wife Cindy as being the kite and myself as the string. She dreams big and I try to keep it real. She sees what can go right and I try to anticipate what could go wrong. She spreads our wings and I run the spreadsheets. It’s a good combination and has taken us to places (both literally and figuratively) that I could never have imagined on my own.
